502 - extreme trail course

Day 502 was a big day for Britt as she loves her extreme trail course and today a farrier offered a free course to his clients and friends. The horses jimmied there way out of the winter pasture and were running amuk around 8:30 so I jumped on the quad and ran to shut gate.

Britt wrangled the horses catching Daisy and pepper and loaded them while I loaded food and Sheldon drink. Mom and Asher were out at 10 so we loaded them in and were out the gate by 10:30.

My run was fairly fast and lots of whinnying from Daisy, she actually did it all but the side pass but it was in typical Quar-Ab style
 practice run
 all slow and calm

then the actual run is fast and furious

the start of Britt's run, then trouble as her cowboy boot tab gets caught in the gate and Pepper drags the entire gate ripping Britt's boot until she kicks it off
not the shredded boot on right side as she grabs the "flag"
 and lopes the arena
then to the pivot box going both left and right
 back thru the L
kick the ball thru the pylons
carry milk jugs and bag of sand from fence and put on barrel
 over the bridge
then back thru the 3 barrels in tear drop pattern
side pass left and right over the pole
then thru the pool noodle curtain, dismount and finish
 the team
 the boot
and fixed with duct tape to get home

some of our spectators, Glen and Roxy came to watch as well

In Olds, the 2 older girls and some friends took part in the mud run

they finished the 5 km race in 43 minutes and the winner was 28 I think so they did well and completed each obstacle

We loaded up around 4:30 and headed to the ranch. Amanda came out and joined us for a delicious wild salmon supper and night of visiting. Shaina and Brandon went to the city to shop, supper, gamble and such and she tip toes in at 3:20am!
Asher entertained us all night, how I wish I could rotate this but it is still funny
and his love of shoes, here he tries Sheldon's new work boots (photo by AJ's iphone)
and his dress shoes
another great sunset!!
