484 - last of the hot days they say

Day 484 was a sleepless hot night. At 3:30 I got up and opened windows and saw it was 26 degrees in the house. I had closed windows due to the rotting crop/field lot smell but thankfully it was gone now. I also turned on the fan. Eventually we got back to sleep.

I was up and off to work feeding the dog and letting kitties out of their house they were back in and it was sunny. Eventually it became overcast but the temperatures stayed in the high 20, 27 and up. On my way home from lunch I deposited bale sales in the bank and picked up some almond milk for Sheldon to take to work. The poor boy is having trouble adjusting to black coffee and watered granola breakfasts.

At the ranch Shaina was catching Baby to hose but think they ended up doing some riding. Britt had hosed the horses in the am. After lunch I folded dreaded laundry waiting for the vet to arrive. Shaina cleaned up and headed to work from 2-9.  At 2, Julie and her assistant Erin arrived. They checked all horses giving them two thumbs up and high praise to Britt's awesome care. She was very impressed with Bird's healing especially and rated her healing better than Ju even. We did not do Julio's teeth as planned as they are not that bad for his age as well as she wants the stitches to stay in another week and keep him & Bird on Uniprim for another 5 days.

I applied swat, pitched some hay and back to the house to do accounting while Britt had a nap on the couch. Sheldon was home from work about quarter to 5. He helped track down missing bills and made some calls as to cost of spreading manure we were offered from local feedlot while I continued the accounting.

As I cooked a talapia, rice and cabbage supper, Sheldon pitched hay while Britt hosed horses yet again. I made food for them and took out while she doctored wounds with green cream and anew antibiotic ointment called Hibitane. Sheldon also brought the sale bale in from the approach as we will not be having a 2nd cut to sell. After supper,I cleaned up & Britt unloaded the dishwasher before scurrying downstairs. Dr Julie stopped with another huge jug of Uniprim for Julio and Bird around 7:30 and Braydon stopped out to get a weed eater and fire pit grate. Sheldon worked on the last part of the bricks till dark while I updated the blog. He did shoot off a couple bullets in the dusk. Britt made banana bread at 10 pm and enjoyed some with a homemade frosty.
Shaina ordered pizza and watched a movie with Jenna after work coming home by 1 am. No wonder the kid can't sleep, she has not routine.
