Day 487 we awoke to rain which held steady until turning to light drizzle around 10:30. Shaina was up and off to babysit Asher today by 9:20 and Britt up just after. She took blankets out to the 2 ponies as it was a chilly 5 degrees and pitched them hay while the special feed soaked up water. She then took it to them. All thru the rain, what a trooper she is dedicated to her animals. She also brought the kitties to the garage so they were not holed up in the dark shed all day.
I spent the morning on the computer updating & reading blogs, emails and searching up shop/barn ideas with not much luck. The rain eased up at 1:20 and it brightened a bit by 2. I checked the rain gauge to find just over 8/10ths. yes we needed that. Around 4 the sun actually came out and it rose to 16 degrees. I did cleaning as well but main target was the darn microwave. I did the old hot clove and orange peel water trick and it looks very clean while Britt washed up pots.
the wound opened up and pulled thru 5 stitches
We finally almost finished the 20 pounds of cherries.
Sheldon got home from work late around 5. Britt took off blankets and fed horses while washing up cuts. For supper I cooked up a new cauliflower recipe from Dr Oz show today which was just olive oil and hemp seeds as well as Shaina's usual Parmesan style, a new zucchini recipe which Sheldon and I liked, not so much the girls and sweet potato fries while Sheldon made hamburger patties and cooked them. Brandon and Shaina joined us for supper before they headed to global fest which is a fire works show held in Calgary just after 6. She is staying the night at Kaylin's. I went and removed 5 of the pulled thru stitches from Bird for Britt before she came in to eat.
yummy beverage
I unloaded dishwasher and waited for her to shower up then ran her to town to a sleep over at Brooke's just before 8. Sheldon toured the fence line again to check for wire down but no luck. There is another huge evergreen tree top snapped off and down :-(
Craving cookies, I made No Bake Oatmeal cookies with chocolate almond milk, they turned out divine! Then it was to bed early for us as both were tuckered out.
