525 - rocks goes on garage

Day 524 was an early morning in many ways, Coco wanted out at 2:30 and then decided to take on coyotes by 3 backed by her booming bark buddy, she would not return to my call so Sheldon got up and went after the brave but silly dog returning her to the safety of the house, this did cause considerable disrupted sleep for us all. Then my alarm went off at 7:25. I went to see that Britt was up to find her sound asleep. I have never seen her move so fast and would you believe today the bus came early. She had about 7 minutes from me waking her to getting on the bus!

Laundry and garbage patrol started my day while waiting for the mason's to arrive. They were a bit late but said there was a fire at our approach so after a wee issue with the whole rock plan I took a trip to the gate to see the fire. Thankfully there were lots of fire personnel there to take care of it. Once back at the house the rock issues were sorted and it started to go up around 11.

For birthday celebration supper tonight I put steaks in this marinade
Yield 1 cup marinade
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste
  1. Mix olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, and garlic in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Marinate steaks for at least 2 hours for best flavor.
as well I found a recipe for a gluten/dairy free dessert, a jumbo peanut butter cookie!
Laundry continued to be my days work as well as the food preparation and helping Shaina find slights to New Zealand as well as apply for a credit card. Things are starting to get real for her and us on this upcoming adventure of a lifetime. She headed off to work for 4-close. The fellows finished up the rock by 4 and just had the gout work to finish.

this is called shadow rock by El Dorado in the color Teton, we really like it
Britt stayed in town after school at Brooke's. Once home form work Sheldon and I admired the rock work and chatted with the guys getting them to quote the front pillars once they were done. They picked up and were gone by 5. Kaylin and Aaron arrived just after 7 but they forgot Britt so ran back to get her. We started supper and enjoyed a nice family supper minus poor working Shaina.
our beautiful 21 year old daughter
 and family

After supper Britt gave her a manicure and pedicure as a birthday present while we all watched The Voice. Then the birthday girl and Aaron headed home around 10:30  and Shaina arrived home about an hour later.
