Day 528 was a hoar frost morning, brrrr. At 8 it was -3 and the fog hung at the approach.
Soon the sun was out and ready to warm the ground but as Britt and I made out way to town the temperature was even colder.
It was the first real cold day reminding of us what is to come. It also froze my pumpkin, squash and zucchini plants and most of the flowers :-(
When I left at lunch I stopped to drop eggs with Kaylin and Amanda before running errands such as banking, parcel pickup, dropping the winter gear at the family services office, dropping stamps and Campbell soup labels at the church, getting gas and a hot tea, returning a paint roller that did not fit roller and picking up another online garage sale purchase. It seemed though that the universal remote did not even have a code for the receiver.. DANG!
Finally back at the ranch I waited for the appliance repair man to make his 2:30 appointment but when not here by 3 I called, they said he would be late so I pulled the frozen plants out and tidied the garden then made a yummy supper healthy chili for supper. Repairman did not arrive till 6 pm. By this time, Sheldon & Shaina were home from work and Britt had gone to Hannah's after school. As well our financial planners Craig and Steve had arrived and were deep in conversation with Sheldon while Amanda and Asher visited with us. The repair man was kind of at a loss and after about 1/2 hour of checking it out, left and said will call with information he can get from GE.
After enjoying supper it was a wee social hour, I ran to pick up Britt at 8 from Hannah's, Shaina headed to town to go out with friends and stay the night in town as she watches Asher in the morning. The Paetz crew headed home around 9.
