548 - Rock of Ages date night

Day 548 up and at it, with puppy in tow. She is picking up the paper training due to to cold to go out but does not like to be left alone except when eating :-). Morning routine has Britt snuggling her on the drive in then my turn. Today after dropping B off, I took Lexi to Kaylin's for the day. She will drop her with Shaina who is babysitting poor sick Asher on her way to work at 4 and Shaina will bring her home.

Diego has begged his way along with the cats back into his heated garage.. the fancy house, pillow and heating pad along with the baled entrance are not quite enough for him, this allows many 4 legged friends to cruise our pasture!

At lunch I ran bank, gas and another garage sale purchase (6 freezable beer mugs for $2) before heading home. On the drive home I could finally get to 100 KPH a the road finally was plowed, sanded and melting off.

Home at 1 I spent the afternoon transferring files off all the floppy discs I found when unpacking office boxes. I borrowed an external floppy drive from our IT guy at work, thanks Mark!

The bus driver was cautious when dropping Britt off, that and Shaina's car stuck in the way had her backing into the field then going back out close to house. Sheldon shoveled Shaina's car out when he got home from work. She took the truck today. It finally required the skid steer and Britt behind the wheel to get it out.

Sheldon and I dropped Britt off at Stout's at 5:30 then jumped in with them and we headed to Calgary for couple date night. We tried a few restaurants before getting in at Earls for food and drinks before Rock of Ages. We met Scott and Coreena at the Jubilee just before it started at 8. What a fantastic show, highly recommend you to go see it. We picked up Britt and home by 11:45 where Shaina was hanging out with Lexi for the night.

547 - more snow & wall damage!

Day 547 awoke to even more snow. In the dark it was terrible looking and even when it got lighter it was still drifting and miserable.

Britt and I loaded up Lexi and made the slow journey of 80 KPH in dropping her at school and then heading to work. Lexi of course was a hit with everyone and enjoyed my typing skills curled up on my knee in her blankets when not visiting folks. Kaylin picked her up around 10:30 on her way to babysit Asher.

I made the treacherous venture south stopping or actually sliding past the mail corner! At the mail I had 3 parcels so back to town I went then slowly came back home by 1. Shaina had tried to get Diego to go out with no success so I had to send him out, only the snow was so banked in front of garage door that the security reversed the door after it fell into garage after I pulled in and he scurried around and back in. I shoveled it out, closed the door and sent him out again. Not long he was bounding back thru the snow requesting me to open the door to his garage and kitties. Shaina headed to Target to work around 2.

Once home from work and the city for hearing tests, Sheldon donned his warm dudes and went to shovel snow. Britt's bus arrived but soon there was a loud pop and noise! The bus driver cut the island tight not wanting to go thru a snow drift and wiped out a huge chunk of the retaining wall. Needless to say, Sheldon was fuming and in disbelief. Another bus had to come for the kids, then a tire truck to repair and finally the bus was gone by 5:30. In the meantime Sheldon put the blade on the quad only to find the winch which runs the blade had seized requiring a new one! Time to come in for a few beers.

After supper, Craig & Steve came out to present our financial plan and helped him drown his sorrows. Kaylin stopped out about 7:30 bringing Lexi and going thru the Scentsy samples to pick favorite smells. She went home about 9:30 and the fellows left just after 10. Shaina came home at 11 and promptly got stuck in the middle of the driveway!

546 - SNOW!!

Day 546 I awoke at 2 am to shut off kitchen light and see the snow is COMING down! And still here when we got up. I took Lexi out with flip flops at just after 7 as Britt was getting ready and then when she jumped on the bus at 7:30. After a wee bit of play her and I went back to bed and she snuggled back to sleep until 9:30!

Shaina was up and we had breakfast before she went to work at the station for 11-4, yes she decided to stick it out for the last couple months before she leaves.

After lunch Kaylin and Asher came out to visit.

Seeing she loves to chew I had Kaylin bring her a chew toy, this happens to be bigger than her LOL

Asher gave her a courtesy pat but really was not overly thrilled, rather play with his toys. That and he was not feeling totally himself, getting a cold poor boy.

Britt arrived home off the bus and jumped in with Kaylin and Asher heading to town for Lexi's first checkup. Then they went to her house to pack and watch a movie. Her and Aaron brought Britt home around 9:30.

Shaina brought me a tea home after she was done work at 4:30 and we had a taco supper with just Shaina. This was rare and fun. After work Sheldon began sharpening my hoof knives and then went thru the kitchen ones. Later in the evening Shaina challenged us to a WII game night, I think only to beat us. :-)

Lexi spent the night with Shaina after they stayed up playing games till wee hours.

545 - Lexi arrives Oct 21

Day 545 was a lazy day. I finished book 2 of Mortal Instruments Series at 1:35 am but then I had an interrupted sleep so did not get out of bed till 11:30. Sheldon got up earlier and read his book by the fire. The girls got up later even. After breakfast, Shaina drove Britt to work for 12:30 and got her and I teas from Tims. Sheldon headed outside around 1 and rolled out the horses a bale then sorted his wood pile collecting wood to build a work bench. I spent time typing our Britt's 4-h speech form 2010 that Lesley wants to post on the polox website

Sheldon came back in after and hour to have a laced hot chocolate in front of the fire with his book but went back after an hour. Shaina worked on getting a list together, HA! I put on a chicken to roast for supper

Sheldon picked up Britt at 5:30 from work and just after 6 we all had a chicken supper feast for four. Back to his book (#1) and back to basement for the girls left me updating the blog. Tonight I start book 3 of Mortal Instruments Series, City of Glass

Around 7, Aaron and Kaylin came out with their new addition Lexi, a french bulldog. She was quite the entertainment. The youth went down to watch TV at 9:30 and Sheldon showered and went to bed to read. Seems he is hooked on this book, best order him number 2! Aaron & Kaylin went back to town at 11:30 and Lexi spent the night with Britt in her kennel.

544 - drizzly dreary day

Day 544 started as a drizzly misty day. I was up at 10 when Shaina was eating breakfast before she headed to work before 11. I fed the pets and made tea for sleeping beauty and myself and enjoyed while I perused the internet for health info. By 11 it turned to flakes that melted on contact. Britt came up around 12:30 to eat as I was making a double batch of granola for Sheldon. After Sheldon ate lunch he ran the tires we are donating to the 4-H club to the drop off spot saving them coming to load pickup and unload, what a nice guy!

Shaina had some bad news at work, they moved her from serving back to service bar so she chose to not continue working at the Station. The golf course had their last day of the course open on Friday so cancelled her shift for Sunday and will now just be occasionally for the dinner hour. She did sock away lots for her trip so we are proud of her for that and she ill continue her other 2 jobs that give her a few days a week.

I have been wanting to paint our dining table since before we moved,  it is solid oak but just not the color for the house. The new color style is two tone .. what do  you think?

After a yummy supper, Britt Sheldon and I watched our first movie in the theater room with all the sound surround and affects. It was the Avengers so a great action packed movie, thanks Stouts for the loan!

543 - relaxing day off

Day 543 Britt was up and on the bus after I rousted her just after 7. Coco continued my broken sleep pattern wanting out at 8 and back in later but after that I slept until 10. Today was 3rd Friday, so a day off for Sheldon and of course my day off too. Sleeping Sheldon finally came to life about then too after his 14 hour sleep! Finally after 1/2 hour of dream revelations we go up and got moving!

I proceeded to add a bit of cute to Shaina's walls then worked on accounting while Sheldon had breakfast and headed to town at 11:30 to buy new cowboy boots before his free reiki massage at 1 I booked him.

He was home around 2:30 and loaded tires for donation to the 4-H club then came in to relax. He really enjoyed the reiki. Britt was home on the bus and headed to her room :-)

Kaylin had a naturopathic appointment this morning then she stopped to see her new addition which she picks up Sunday.. a baby french bull dog who most likely will be named Lexi

After his nap, Sheldon and I drove to the city just after 5 for supper at Joey Tomatos and the annual polox meeting. For supper Sheldon tried the fish tacos which were not as good as Original Joes but I had the beach salad sans goat cheese and it was amazing!!

the meeting was over at 11 and we were home in bed by midnight. Britt was still up watching TV and Shaina went to the city to Ranchmans after babysitting Asher and arrived home about quarter after 1 am.

542 - time with my girls

Day 542 to school and work. Britt forgot a form needed singing so I ran to the school to sign and then on my way back to work grabbed a form Kaylin needed scanned. Shaina had got ready to work at 11 at the station dropping Coco off for her haircut on the way only to find out they took her off todays schedule and did not let her know. She was a bit hot around the collar to say the least.

At lunch I picked up Kaylin and Shaina and we went to the golf course to eat, Emily joined us. I dropped the girls back at Kaylin's place where she was off for a massage before heading to a concert in the city tonight. I had noticed Shaina's car tire was going flat so she ran it to Kal-Tire for a free flat fix. I went back to work and did a few things before picking Shaina up to run errands. We got Coco from the groomer, paid my accountant, picked up a frame for Shaina then dropped her back at her car. Both of us then headed to the ranch.

Back home we spent the next couple hours hanging photo frames in a huge collage in her room. When Britt arrived home off the bus she headed out on a bike ride. The calm no wind was a nice day before the forecasted snow arrives this weekend. Finishing up around 5:30 I moved on to updating the blog. I was checking the old blog and what a flashback.. check this link

Britt arrived back from her bike ride tuckered out at 6 just as Brandon pulled in. All 4 of us went riding, what a beautiful night for a ride but by dark it was getting a bit nippy.

Sheldon had a work forum in the city this afternoon then they stayed in for drinks, He arrived home just as we were all coming inside at 7:15 pm. I put in a pizza and everyone had a snack before Shaina and Brandon went to town for wing night, I hit the bath tub to read and Sheldon hit the bed to read but was sleeping soon after and Britt scurried downstairs. Shaina is staying overnight at Emily's as she watches Asher tomorrow. What a busy but enjoyable day with my girls!
